BasysPrint developed a technology which would unite the principles of CTP with the benefits of the proven, conventional UV plate technology. The product was the basysPrint UV-Setter. Implementing the unique DSI (Digital Screen Imaging) concept, basysPrint’s UV lamps or violet laser diodes are able to process more than 50 brands of UV-sensitive printing plates from 15 different manufacturers. The UV-Setter has been enjoying tremendous success worldwide for over 10 years, handling the most varied applications in the format classes 2 - 9 (up to 1535 x 3170 mm).

Digital Screen Imaging (DSI) process


The UV-Setter Series can be ordered in the following automation levels in DSI² and DSI³:


  • Manual and semi-automatic: Even in its basic manual version, the UV-Setter stands out by way of its ease of handling and quality. The first option is to configure the UV-Setter as a semi-automatic system with automatic plate transport to the processor.
  • Fully automatic system with single cassette:

    • Manual operation possible, if necessary
    • Fully automatic paper removal
    • Optional automatic punching
    • Plates can also be loaded up during exposure

    • Fully automatic system with multi-cassette: The MCA version (Multi-Cassette Automation) accepts up to five different plate formats and automatically supplies the required format for exposure.
      • Up to 500 plates in max. 5 cassettes
      • Manual operation possible, if necessary
      • Plates can also be loaded up during exposure
